Maurice + Elizabeth | US Grant Hotel - Mission San Diego de Alcala - The Crosby Club Wedding Photography

When I first met up with Maurice and Liz, I knew photographing their wedding was going to be a lot of fun. They are the type of couple photographers love working with. They had invested in really planning out how they wanted their wedding day to look and feel. Being welcomed into their family on a such an important day ment a lot. They have dedicated their lives to studying medicine and helping others, [hence the doctor and nurse on the wedding cake] their natural caring for others was felt through them and their entire family [thank you for the bottle of Tequila.]

The day started off at the US Grant Hotel in downtown San Diego. While their are a lot of cool hotels downtown, the US Grant has such a historic and real feel about it. The walls are lined with real art and the rooms have such an elegant look with the most amazing natural light coming through the huge windows.

Their ceremony was held at the Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala in Mission Valley. I have shot a quite a few churches, but few rarely have the raw natural beauty as this Mission. Standing in a Mission that was established before the country it resides in is just an amazing feeling.

The ceremony was held at the Crosby Club in Rancho Santa Fe. I have to really thank Sydney at The Crosby for all of her help and the fantastic job of her team. I can't remember hearing a "no" from the staff on any request we made [which can get ridiculous from photographers.] Offering up locations on their vast property as well as supplying golf carts...thank you, thank you, thank you. If anyone is reading this post and still searching for a venue, please check out the Crosby Club. You nor your wedding photographer will regret it. The night ended with a midnight mariachi concert followed by a sparkler exit. Below are some images from their wedding day!
