Last night I got the chance to do two awesome things. One was photographing one of my favorite artist, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. The other was meeting one of my photography idols, Alan Hess. I had no idea Alan was the house photographer at the Valley View Casino Center. I started following his work when I watched a Photoshop World video he did on concert photography. Being asked to teach a Photoshop World video is like being asked to coach the Greenbay Packers. Or Chargers or whomever your team is. In the words of crazy Uncle Joe Bidden....It's a big F'in deal. I might of got to the level of annoying with all of my questions between songs, but I couldn't help myself. I learned more about photography in those few moments in between sets that I have in the last four year.
I also got to watch Macklemore's tour photographer, Zoe Rain, work as well. Her photos are all updated on Macklemore's website. If you have a free second, I highly recommend checking it out. You really get a feeling for the artists in real life by viewing her images. Being able to see random "boring" moments blended in with killing it at Madison Square Gardens really gives you insight that these artist are just people and this is just their life.
Oh yeah and Big K.R.I.T, Talib Kweli, and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis fucking killed it.
