Turning the Table and Getting Our Own Family Photos Done |theDALEYlife.|

So a crazy thing happened last night. We got out first family photos. Ever. I have a ton of photos of the kids. Or Amanda with the kids. But this was the first time we actually had another photographer take our photos. As many times as I have been behind the camera, this was the first time felt what it was like to be someone getting their photo taken. I found myself feeling awkward and doing things that other people do when I am photographing them. I now understand those little quirks (talking while someone has a camera pointed at you...) are just nervous habits. I will now stop chanting "stop doing that" under my breath when I am photographing your family.

This wasn't a regular photo session either. We are lucky enough to have Beki, one of my favorite photographers and one of the nicest people I have the pleasure of knowing, and her awesome family show us around downtown Escondido and photograph each others families.

Please be sure to check out her work at http://bekidawnphotography.com/!

Side note: On the way up to Esconido I was wondering out loud how I came to know Beki. My wife reminded me, I think you asked her a question once online. hah. Then it came flooding back that I think it just wasn't a question but QUESTIONS! So eh, sorry about that Beki....and THANK YOU!

Below are some of the images from the session. Downtown Escondido is filled with little hidden spots to shoot. It has a really old small town feel to it (I come from central, IL so I know what I am talking about!) Grape Day Park looks like it was actually set up just for photography.
