I photographed Luis and Tricia's engagement session just about a month before their wedding. That session was personally one of my favorites, so I knew getting to work with them during a full wedding day was going to be awesome. Now not to dig any past or future wedding clients, but as a photographer I can totally tell when a couple has really invested themselves into their wedding. When I say investing themselves, I am not talking about money, but a couple working together to make their day reflect who they are. Tricia is a super talented artist and created all the little details you see in the images below. She even hand painted the skulls onto the wood for the bean bag tossing game (sorry, I don't know the actual name of that game.) She drew all the signs in chalk. Being an artist myself, I know how hard that stuff is to make look good. And she made them look awesome.
The day started out with the girls getting ready at the Ocean Beach Hotel at the end of Newport Ave. I lived in OB for many years and had no idea the hotel actually owned the little condo's next door. With the breeze of the ocean coming in literally from across the street, it served as a really relaxing and cool place to start the day.
Their wedding was held at the Los Penasquitos Ranch House in San Diego. Epic place for a ranch style or unique wedding theme. The grounds are beautiful to photograph. Huge willow trees shade large parts of the property making even a hot day seem more spring than summer.
Below are some images of their wedding day.
lovely!
