Tommy Dubs - Seismic Leveler - In the Studio

It is great getting to watch artist work on their craft. Last night I got the chance to visit with my friend and one of my favorite musicians, Tommy Dubs, mixing some tracks for their upcoming album. Watching Dubs and his band dissect songs is like watching a group of mad scientist put together a zombie. People generally don't understand how much work goes into creating a great sounding album production-wise as well as the song writing and composition. For every four minute song, from start to finish, there has probably been over 100 hours getting it perfect (my guess at least.) Pulling out snare hits, listening to the timing of every bass note and kick thump, re-recording a 4 second part to make it sound better, etc etc. If people understood this or saw how much production goes into making sure they have music to listen to on road trips and working out they would see that the price of albums are generally a very good deal for the them.
