Aggrolites & Slightly Stoopid - SOMA Jan. 13th

I got a change to shoot a couple of my favorite bands on Friday night at SOMA in San Diego. One being the headliner, Slightly Stoopid, as well the Aggrolites (first time seeing them live did not disappoint) This was probably one of the hardest live shows I have shot. The stage lights mean everything to a photographer shooting a live performance. When there is a lack of them on the performers it makes it really hard to shoot. Sometimes I wanna run over to the light tech and offer him a 20 to keep things bright, but I am sure that goes against the wishes of the bands playing and the vibe they are trying to create.

First on the bill friday was a band I had never heard of before, but would go to see again for sure. If you are a fan of that sublime/long beach era vibe of music (not the reincarnations of that sound that are everywhere) then I highly suggest checking out Perro Bravo. They are every bit legit.

Next up was The Aggrolites. Being a father of two, I felt like I was the only one at the show that knew their "Banana song" from the tv show Yo Gabba Gabba word for word.

And finally Stoopid hit the stage....
